CM 122 Church and Personal Finance
[2 Hours]
This course is an introduction to Biblical principles of financial responsibility that relate not only to the personal life but also to the ministry as well.  Emphasis will also be given to simple accounting and business transactions suitable for the church and missions.
 
CM 210 Introduction to Counseling
[2 Hours]
This course is an introduction to the Biblical and theological principles and methodology of counseling with a survey of the most common problems confronted in a local church setting. 
 
CM 301 Teaching Methods for a Church Ministry
[3 Hours]
This course prepares church teachers for communicating with students from the elementary to the college age student.  It considers purposeful Bible study, preparation of aims, laws of teaching, application of lessons, and the use of modern technology in using audio/visual tools for communicating with youth and developing the various methods of lesson preparation.
 
CM 311 Church Activities
[3 Hours]
This is a practical course designed to understand the philosophy of church activities and to design programs for all types of recreational activities including camping programs.
 
CM 322 Contemporary Youth Issues
[2 Hours]
This course examines the problems facing youth transition from childhood to adult life.  Emphasis is placed on problems relating to self-esteem, puberty, peer influence, and interpersonal relationships.  Prevention and management strategies for normal adolescent conflict resolution will be proposed from a Biblical perspective.
 
CM 401 Curriculum Development
[3 Hours]
This course is designed to give practical experience in the development of a Bible-centered curriculum for children, which will promote Christian growth.
 
CM 402 Counseling Youth
 [2 Hours]
This course examines the methods and techniques of counseling young people from a Biblical perspective.  It further provides the practical application of the problems presented in Contemporary Youth Issues.
 
CM 411 Youth Programs
[3 Hours]
This course focuses on the development of the Sunday School, camping, and outreach programs of the youth ministry.
 
CM 422 Development of Youth Leaders
[2 Hours]
This course is designed to develop and understand the Biblical basis and qualifications of leadership, both personally and for the staff.
 
CM 461, 462 Church Ministries In-Service Training
[1 Hour]
This course requires hands-on field experience in all phases of the pastoral ministry requiring a minimum of 60 hours of work over a period of at least ten weeks under the supervision of a pastor appointed by the Department.

This course is a study of the principles of local church ministry as presented in the New Testament.
 
CM 220 Christian Home
[3 Hours]
This course is a study of the Biblical principles of the home with an emphasis on courtship, husband/wife relationships, parenting, and finances.
 
CM 230 Storytelling
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of storytelling techniques which relate to all age levels along with the practical use of many forms of drama and puppetry in local church ministries.
 
CM 241 Women in Ministry I
[2 Hours]
This course is a survey of the Biblical, theological, and practical issues surrounding the role of women within the church and society, emphasizing opportunities for service.
 
CM 242 Women in Ministry II
[2 Hours]
This course includes practical instruction and experience in the preparation and delivery of Bible lessons and other presentations in formal and informal settings with the objective of enhancing communication skills.
 
CM 251 Media Ministries
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of the opportunities for ministry in the local church using the media with an emphasis on radio, cassette tape, video and television.
 
CM 340 Family Counseling
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of the Biblical principles and methods employed in the variety of counseling needs that may arise in the home and family.  Emphasis is placed on the role of the local church in assisting families.
 
CM 406 Counseling Adults
[2 Hours]
This course is an advanced study in counseling issues unique to today’s adult population which are facing the counselor in a local church ministry.
 
CM 435 Marital/Premarital Counseling
[2 Hours]
This course is an advanced study in counseling those with specific needs in the period of dating and engagement as well as all stages of married life.  Emphasis is placed on the role of the local church in assisting those with these needs.
 
CM 432 Christian Camping
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of the Christian camping ministry with an emphasis on philosophy, purpose, and preparation for the camp and the campers.
