This course is an overview of the field of special education and its application in the church school.  An emphasis is placed on definition, characteristics, causes, and intervention for each area of exceptionality.
 
ED 321 Elementary Social Studies Methods in the Church School

This course is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching social studies in the church school.  It includes an emphasis on unit planning, micro-teaching experiences, and curriculum evaluation.
 
ED 322 Elementary Math Methods in the Church School

This course is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching elementary school math in the church school.  Emphasis is placed on curriculum, lesson planning, and instructional techniques.

This course is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching elementary school music and art in the church school.  An emphasis is placed on the organization of a music and art curriculum for the classroom teacher.

This course explores the Bible curricula for the church school with an emphasis on curriculum designing and creative teaching methods.
 
ED 325 Elementary Physical Education Methods in the Church School
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching elementary physical education in the church school.  An emphasis is placed on programs for a well-balanced physical education curriculum.
 
ED 327 Elementary Science Methods in the Church School

This course is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching elementary school science in the church school.  Emphasis is placed on curriculum, lesson planning, and instructional techniques.
 
ED 332 Teaching Reading and Language Arts in the Church School

This course is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching elementary school reading in the church school.  An emphasis is placed on pedagogical theory, basic structure or written language, and classroom experiences.  Also included is a study of the methods and materials appropriate for teaching elementary school language arts in the church school with an emphasis on the practical application of theory.

This course is a study of the methods, materials, and curriculum development for teaching secondary school English in the church school.
 
ED 400 Seminar in Student Teaching in the Church School
[2 Hours]
This course is a practical preparation for the student teaching experience in the church school with an emphasis on the ministry and profession of teaching in the church school.
 
ED 401 Teaching and Management Strategies in the Church School
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of strategies that facilitate teaching and learning in the church school.  A classification of management strategies with an emphasis on assertive discipline is included.
 
ED 411 Educational Philosophy within the Church School
[2 Hours]
This course is a study of the major educational philosophies of the Western educational system and their applicability to teaching in the church school.
 
ED 460 Student Teaching in the Church School
[12 Hours]
This course is practical participation in classroom teaching in the church school.  Emphasis is placed on the final preparation of the student teacher for teaching in the church school.
