(MI) Missions Courses
MI 101 Introduction to Missions
[3 Hours]
This course is an introduction to the cause of Christian missions and the definition of missions.  Historic and missionary effort will be evaluated by Biblical principles.  The student will learn of ministry first hand by experience and practice in the area of ethnic ministry and the special needs that come when entering into an outreach ministry.
 
MI 102 Foundations of Missions
[1 Hour]
This course places emphasis on the Scriptural basis of Christian missions.
 
MI 103 History of Missions
[1 Hour]
In this course, historic and missionary effort will be evaluated by Biblical principles.
 
MI 104 Principles of Missions
[1 Hour]
This course covers a variety of topics within the framework of basic principles of a church missions program as well as the basic principles of operating a mission work.
 
MI 105 Philosophy of Missions
[1 Hour]
This course covers Biblical principles which form the foundation of each student’s philosophy of missions.  Each student will develop a Biblical philosophy of missions.
 
MI 106 Theology of Missions
[1 Hour]
This course is a study of Biblical principles and their application to mission work.  A number of other mission programs will be studied.
 
MI 107 Promotion of Missions
[1 Hour]
This course is a practical study of how a local church can adequately promote its missions program.  It also covers the perspective of the missionary as he visits the local church.
 
MI 108 Seminar in Missions
[1 Hour]
This course is a study of contemporary missions topics.  The course is Biblical, yet relevant to the student anticipating participation in or support of a missions program.
 
MI 201 World Area Studies
[2 Hours]
This course is a survey of particularly needed areas of the world and of major world religions.  Emphasis is placed upon the Scriptural guidelines that challenge every Christian to participate in the fulfillment of the Great Commission in his generation.
 
MI 202 Cultural Anthropology
[2 Hours]
This course is an introduction of the concepts of cultural anthropology which assist missionaries in their adoption and ministry in cross-cultural situations.
 
MI 311 Missionary Life and Work
[2 Hours]
This course is a practical study of the missionary’s life and work which includes his personal preparation, internship, deputation, departure and arrival on the field, first term and furlough.
 
MI 322 Practical Missions Theology
[3 Hours]
This practical course deals with those spiritual functions that relate to the male missionary’s ministry.  Emphasis is also given to the personal development of the student.
 
MI 331 Women In Missions Life and Work   I
[2 Hours]
This course is a practical study specific to women who are called to the mission field.
 
MI 332 Women In Missions Life and Work II
[2 Hours]
This course is a practical study specific to women who are called to the mission field.
 
MI 411 Cross Cultural Communications
[2 Hours]
This is a concentrated study of the factors essential in communicating Biblical concepts cross-culturally.  This would include basic principles in language learning.
 
MI 422 Church and Missions
[2 Hours]
This course is designed especially for Biblical studies majors and emphasizes the promotion of world missions within the local church through education, motivation, and involvement of its members.
 
MI 461, 462 Missions In-Service Training
[1 Hour each]
Each of these courses require hands-on field experience in all phases of the pastoral/missions ministry requiring a minimum of 60 hours of work over a period of at least ten weeks under the supervision of a pastor/missionary appointed by the Department.Courses.htmlshapeimage_1_link_0
